Through the use of data pipelines, knowledge graph, interactive visualisations and machine learning, it seeks to integrate key external and internal data sources, generate complex interactive information, and accelerate our teams of competitive intelligence professionals to provide a clear advantage for AstraZeneca. The Role
We are looking for a skilled front-end developer to join our team in building an innovative application that will revolutionize healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a strong proficiency in JavaScript and experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React. Responsibilities will include collaborating with the design and back-end teams to implement user-friendly interfaces, optimizing application performance, and ensuring cross-browser compatibility. The successful candidate will have a passion for creating elegant and intuitive user experiences, a strong attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a diverse team. Accountabilities
Develop new user-facing features: Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality, reusable React components.
Ensure responsiveness and performance: Optimize components for a variety of devices and browsers. Write clean, maintainable code.
Implement state management: Utilize libraries like Redux or Context API to manage application state in complex projects.
Collaborate with team members: Work effectively with designers, back-end developers, and other stakeholders.
TypeScript: Familiarity with TypeScript for improved type safety and maintainability in large projects.
Write unit and integration tests: Ensure code quality and maintainability using frameworks like Jest and React Testing Library.
Stay up-to-date: Continuously learn and adapt to the evolving React ecosystem.
Essential Skills/Experience
- In-depth knowledge of React.js: Proficiency with core React concepts, components, state management, props, JSX syntax, and modern JavaScript features (ES6+).
- Experience with Design Systems: Strong experience working with design systems, Figma for design collaboration, and building/utilizing Storybook components while closely partnering with UX designers.
- Modern JavaScript Features: Familiarity with features like arrow functions, classes, modules, and promises is a plus. These features enhance code readability and maintainability.
- Experience with front-end build tools: Familiarity with Vite, Babel, and npm (or yarn) for development workflows, bundling, and dependency management.
- Version control systems: Familiarity with Git for version control and collaboration, including experience with Git actions for continuous integration and deployment.
- RESTful APIs: Ability to fetch data from and interact with RESTful APIs.
- Testing Frameworks: The candidate must be proficient in using tools like SonarQube and GitHub Copilot, integrating tests within CI/CD pipelines, and utilizing frameworks such as Vitest, Pytest, and Playwright. Developers are expected to take full responsibility and accountability for the quality and thorough testing of their code before it is checked in and integrated with the rest of the stack.
- Code Quality Tools: Familiarity with SonarQube for continuous inspection of code quality and security vulnerabilities.
